The Melbourne University Robotics Laboratory conducts research activities on fundamental science of robotics with applications mainly to Biomedical and Biomechanic tasks. As such, the laboratory promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to research, without losing track of the fundamental excellence. Research projects are developed in close collaboration with academic and research staff of other departments within the university, such the Department of Computer Science and the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, as well as with colleagues from other universities.

We are currently undergoing the process of renovation - that is referring to both the physical laboratory space, and the (cyber) web-space. Please come back to visit us soon as this webpage will be updated frequently.

For any enquiries regarding the Robotics research activities in the department, please contact Denny Oetomo.

These competitive scholarships are provided based entirely on merit. Students interested in pursuing graduate research studies in Robotics at the laboratory are encouraged to contact us. The information on applying for graduate admission and scholarships are available on the Melbourne School of Engineering Graduate Admission website.

Undergraduate Research: FYPs and Internship

The laboratory offers several Final Year Projects (FYPs) in Robotics and Mechatronics every year. The number of projects depends on the available space in the laboratory. Industry sponsored projects are welcome.

Student internships (local or international) on the research projects in the laboratory are welcome. The laboratory does not provide financial support to international undergraduate internships.
